With the rainout on Friday at Luxemburg, we took the trip back up to Seymour Speedway on Sunday evening. We had a little issue getting to the track with one of our trailer tires getting a flat, so we ended up making it there with 3.
I started 10th (last) in the heat, and after contact between a few drivers I found myself sitting in 5th with 2 laps to go. However, I had a bad push coming into turn 3 and Chummy Arneson & Brian Besaw got by on the outside, leaving me to finish 7th.
I would start the semi-feature in the 6th spot, just where I wanted to race up on the outside. Kelsy Hayes and I battled throughout the race for that 5th transfer spot, but Chad Guyette squeezed through the middle of us to grab 5th. On the final lap, Guyette got tangled with a lapped car to bring out a caution and end the race. The officials deemed it was the lapped car’s fault for the caution, and gave Guyette his spot back. I was credited with 6th spot, missing the feature by 1.
Our schedule for this week looks like Wednesday at 141 Speedway, and also our weekly stop at Luxemburg Speedway on Friday night.
