After winning the feature on 5/24 at Thunderhill Raceway, we looked to improve our results at our home track of Luxemburg Speedway this past Friday night. So far on the season we’ve posted a pair of 11th place finishes to put us 10th in the standings early in the season.

Starting 4th in the heat race, I had to do my best to stay in the top-4 to get my invert spot for the feature. I restarted in 3rd, but had to back off as Scott Boulanger shot up and off the backstretch. I fell back to 5th, but was able to pass Boulanger late to finish 4th.

Starting 5th in the feature, I quickly used the bottom groove to move past Josh Lambert and Jessi Ness to move into the 3rd position. I pushed up the track a bit allowing Brandon Long to pass, and I settled into the 4th spot. As I made the pass on Greg Wichman for 3rd, a caution flag flew which put me 4th on the restart. I tried to make a pass underneath Long to take the lead, but he held me up, as a broken shock would end his night. I lost a few positions trying to maneuver around Long, and just barely beat Greg Potts to the finish line to finish in 6th.

On Saturday, we again made the trip up to Thunderhill Raceway searching for back-to-back feature wins.

Starting 8th in the feature, the pack of cars stayed side by side for the first few laps. I looked to the bottom groove and started to pick off a position every few laps until I found myself in the 5th spot behind Jarred VanLaanen. A caution flag flew, and on the restart Ryan LeMieux was able to shoot to the lead from the 3rd spot, while I followed behind up to the 3rd spot. Another caution flag would fly with 2 laps remaining, and I was able to use the high line around Randy LeMieux, Jr. to secure 2nd place at the checkers.

After 3 nights of racing at both Luxemburg Speedway and Thunderhill Raceway, we currently sit 6th in points at Luxemburg and 2nd in points at Thunderhill. This weekend, our plan is to race both tracks once again. We will also have our car on hand at Gnome Games this Saturday, June 7th, from 11am-2pm for their “Race into Reading” event.
